If you're a developer
Ask questions:
- For add-on or development questions use mozilla.dev.applications.thunderbird (aka the "mdat" newsgroup). Or use it's mirror, the dev-apps-thunderbird mailing list.
- Maildev is a moderated mailing list for Thunderbird Engineering Council plans
- IRC #maildev channel (or use web link) is a friendly place to ask questions or just hang out. Ask and be patient, because not everyone lives in same timezone.
- AMO forums (which has moved to Discourse) is also great for add-ons.
Get info for the juicy Thunderbird bits:
- Portal for general Thunderbird info
- Portal for Thunderbird add-on / extension developers
- How-tos for add-on / extension developers
- Add-ons general info for general.
- (The Mozilla Developer Center for general programming goodies.)
- Bugzilla is where all the "fixing stuff" happens. If you're interested in some feature or some development, CC yourself to the bug. And check out this hilarious video tutorial about how Bugzilla works, it's really worth it.
- Just for kicks, see what the Thunderbird team is up to using bwinton's reviewer-dashboard.
