There are several different branches active for Thunderbird development. This page aims to clarify the names and where they originate from.

3.0 Previous major release, now in security & stability cycles Shredder 3.0.x 1.9.1x comm-1.9.1 mozilla-1.9.1 End of life scheduled for December, will be shut down soon after.

Notes:

  • There may be a 3.2 release. If so, this will be branched from the 3.1 builds (comm-1.9.2/mozilla-1.9.2). If there is a 3.2 release, the code name has not been decided.
